Introduction
The Fund Management Unit is responsible in the administration of Research and Development (R&D) funds related to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) cluster focus areas which are Biotechnology, ICT, Industry, Sea to Space, and S&T Core.
Objectives
- To efficiently and effectively manage R&D funds for the priority S&T clusters towards knowledge generation, enhancement of socio-economic standard and the nation’s well-being
- To assist in increasing R&D activities and technology development which are market oriented for the enhancement of the nation’s socio-economic standard
- To encourage technology innovation culture in an effort to enhance quality of life and societal well-being
Functions
- Serve as the focal point for applications of ScienceFund and Pre Commercialisation Fund applications
- Formulate policies and coordinate guidelines, criteria and quantum for ScienceFund and Pre Commercialisation Fund
- Manage ScienceFund and Pre Commercialisation Fund applications
- Monitor the R&D Management System Database
- Provide follow-up services for the successful projects
- Implement promotional activities for funds
Client Charter
We commit to providing an efficient, professional, ethical and friendly service for our customers by:
- Procesing applications for ScienceFund and Pre Commercialisation Fund within 50 working days upon receiving completed documents
- Processing agreement documents within 30 days from the date of receipt
- Processing and effecting payments to the recipients within 14 working days from the date of approval by the Fund Approval Committee
