 PUTRAJAYA, 23rd April 2012 – Hon. Ms. Dinah Pule, Minister of Communication of South Africa paid a courtesy call on YBhg. Dato’ Madinah Mohamad, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation at her office this morning. The Hon. Minister was accompanied by Mr. Roy Kruger, Technical Advisor, Ms. Nthabiseng Borotho, Personal Assistant, Mr. Khathutshelo Sekhwama, Protocol Officer and Ms. Shevonne Henry, 3rd Secretary : Political (South African High Commission to Malaysia).
Hon. Minister expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to meet with YBhg. Dato’ Madinah and ICT Clusters members of MOSTI to discuss on the possible collaborations between Malaysia and South Africa. YBhg. Dato’ Madinah expressed that she is honoured to meet the Hon. Minister and the delegation today as this courtesy call will bind the two countries closer together to start meaningful collaborations between Malaysia and South Africa. Meeting concluded that possible key areas of cooperation with MOSTI would be with Cybersecurity Malaysia and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).
The Honorable Minister is in Malaysia for a fact finding mission from 23th until 26th April 2012. The main objective of the mission is to explore the relationship between Malaysian government institutions and telecommunications enterprises.
Prior to this meeting, the Hon. Minister met the Hon. Minister of Information, Communication and Culture (MICC) Malaysia. She is also scheduled to visit MDeC, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Axiata Group and Telekoms Malaysia.
