7 July 2009: Maximus Witnessed The Signing Of MOU Between MOSTI’s Agencies and KRIBB Print E-mail
JULY, 7, 2009: Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili witnessed the signing of two memoranda of understanding between Korea Research Institute of Bioscience & Biotechnology (KRIBB) and two agencies under MOSTI today.
The first MOU was signed by KRIBB president Dr Young Hoon Park and BiotechCorp chief executive officer Dato’ Iskandar Mizal Mahmood.

The MOU pertains to a government-to-government collaboration to realize the proposed biotech twinning programme with the Republic of Korea.

The MOU between KRIBB and Sirim is to establish a partnership between their centers of excellence on biotechnology research and related training, which will involve exchange of scientists, joint research activities and exchange of biological materials.

Dr Maximus Ongkili also witnessed the signing of a licensing agreement between KRIBB and Ultimate Biotech Sdn Bhd.

The agreement will allow Ultimate Biotech Sdn Bhd, which was represented by its chairman Chia Soo Vui, to obtain the rights to make, use and sell bio fertilizer using palm oil mill waste.

Also present at the signing ceremony was Ambassador of Republic of Korea to Malaysia His Excellency Yang Bong Ryull.
