PUTRAJAYA, 24 April 2012: A three-member delegation from the Research Council of the Sultanate of Oman comprising of Ms. Zakiya Al Azri, Ms. Imam Al Shukaili, and Ms. Ainas Iqbal visited the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) on 24th April 2012. The delegation was accompanied by two officers from Technology Park Malaysia, Dr. Mustaza Hj. Ahmadun and Cik Kamsina Abdullah from the Centre for Technology Commercialisation.
Mr. Ho Koon Seng, Undersecretary of International Division received the delegation along with other representatives from MOSTI’s clusters. Mr. Danil Taridi Ghazali, Principal Assistant Secretary of Bilateral Unit 2 (Asia) International Division, briefed the delegation with a 30-minute presentation on the background and functions of MOSTI and the National Science and Research Council (NSRC) of Malaysia.
The Omani delegation is on a three-day working visit, organized by Technology Park Malaysia, to explore business and industry matching as well as collaboration in R&D with Malaysian agencies. At the end of the discussion, the Omani visitors expressed strong interest to continue and explore possible collaborative activities with MOSTI especially in nanotechnology, ICT and eco-development.
