Newly Appointed South Korean Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call On YB Minister

PUTRAJAYA, 24th October 2013 – The South Korean Ambassador HE Cho Byungjae paid a courtesy visit on YB Datuk Dr. Ewon Ebin, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation at his office today where they discussed on a wide range of bilateral matters relating to science and technology cooperation. Ambassador Cho who assumed his post in July 2013 expressed his satisfaction on the bilateral cooperation that has been nurtured since the signing of the Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement on 18th July 1985. He expressed confidence that cooperation between Malaysia and Korea could invigorate further as both countries have a lot to learn and benefit from each other’s experience.  The Korean ambassador conveyed his hope for an early conclusion to the negotiations on the Memorandum of Understanding between Nuclear Malaysia and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). He also responded positively to YB Minister’s proposal to learn from each other’s experience on the area of commercialization which is integral part of the innovation process.
 
Accompanying H.E. Cho were Mr. Sangwook Koh, First Secretary and Mr. Bryan Yang, Attaché of Energy & Resources of the ROK Embassy. Also present at the courtesy call were YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Rosli Mohamed, Secretary General of MOSTI, YBhg. Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Khatijah Mohd Yusoff, Deputy Secretary General (Science), Mr. Mohd Khairul Adib Abd. Rahman, Undersecretary of Industry Division, Mr. Ho Koon Seng, Undersecretary of International Division, and YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Muhammad Lebai, Director General of Nuclear Malaysia.
