Background

The Information Technology Management Division (BPTM) was established on 1 September 2005 with a staffing warrant of 16 positions and reports directly to the Deputy Chief Secretary (Operations).

In 2018, BPTM established five (5) sections:

i.Operations, Network, and Security Section

ii.Policy Section

iii.Corporate Applications Section

iv.User Applications Section

v.Administration Unit

BPTM is responsible for providing ICT services, including advisory services, system development, ICT security, and technical support to various divisions to ensure that the ICT services run efficiently and smoothly in line with the core services of Ministry of Sains, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).

BPTM also conducts ICT project monitoring through ICT governance such as ICT Project Committee (JPICT), ICT Technical Committee (JTI), Main Committee for Headquarters Application Project Monitoring (JIPPAIP), ICT Security Committee (JKICT) and Portal Technical Committee.

Objective

Ensuring that all information and communication technology (ICT) services, facilities and requirements that include hardware, software, networks, security and ICT infrastructure at the MOSTI Headquarters are managed and administered accurately and securely according to the specified needs and timelines to support the effective and efficient delivery system of the MOSTI.
