Brussels, Belgium (12 December 2012) – YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Madinah Mohamad, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, is attending a three-day science policy visit to Brussels, Belgium from 11-13 December 2012 in the occasion of the closing event of the ASEAN-EU Year of Science, Technology and Innovation 2012 (YoSTI).
This policy visit aims to enable National ASEAN COST Chairs to participate in the YoSTI final event, thus closing the year of 2012 at the highest policy level, allowing for discussions of achievements and future opportunities, and contributing to a sustained momentum of ASEAN-EU S&T cooperation.
High Level Policy Makers from ASEAN and EU as well as researchers, research managers and members of key research institutions will deliberate, how they can create the greatest synergies in ASEAN-EU STI cooperation in the ASEAN region. To highlight the importance of researcher mobility, this final event will also showcase Marie-Curie Fellows from ASEAN countries to share their perspectives and experiences in EU-ASEAN STI cooperation.
Through this, ASEAN-EU partnership will establish a new approach based on practical, efficient and robust S&T cooperation targeting shared experience, tapping cooperation opportunities and taking full advantage of S&T’s pivotal role in promoting socio-economic development.
