PETRAJAYA (25 February 2013) – The Intellectual Property Awareness Promotion Programme Sarawak State Level was successfully launched by YB Datuk Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). The programme was held in collaboration with Kuching Community College, Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) and the Malaysian Design Council (MRM). Various activities based on creativity and innovations were organised such as innovation competitions, exhibitions as well as innovative demonstrations by students of Community Colleges, Polytechnics, Giat MARA Institutes and MARA Skills Institutes. Also presents were also students from Industrial Training Institute, Institute of Youth Development and UiTM Kota Samarahan.
The objective of this programme is to provide awareness and understanding of intellectual property protection, particularly among students and youths, also known as Y Generation around the Kuching area.
In conjunction with this program, the Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Hj. Fadillah Hj. Yusof also presented the certificate of completion for short courses organized by Kuching Community College to the Temenggong, Pemancar, Penghulu and Ketua Kaum who have successfully completed the courses. Prizes were also presented to winners of the innovation competition organised by the colleges and Innospace Sarawak which was held during the month of February 2013.
