PUTRAJAYA, 23rd April 2012 – The Ambassador of Mozambique to Malaysia, HE Carlos Agostinho Do Rosario paid a courtesy call on YBhg. Dato’ Madinah Mohamad, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation at her office this morning.
HE Do Rosario expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with YBhg. Dato’ Madinah and heads of MOSTI’s clusters and divisions to discuss on the preparations for the working visit of the Minister of Science and Technology of Mozambique, HE Prof. Dr. Eng Venancio Massingue to Malaysia and the signing of the MoU on science and technology cooperation during the visit. In moving forward with the MoU, they agreed on the importance of both parties to identify specific areas of collaboration and relevant implementing agencies within a framework programme. HE Do Rosario also suggested some possible key areas of cooperation with Malaysia such as human resource development and capacity building, biotechnology, agriculture, medicine and space technology.
The Mozambique Ambassador who is based in Jakarta, Indonesia, is in Malaysia for a working visit from 16th until 23rd April 2012. He is scheduled to fly back to Jakarta in the afternoon.
Also present at the meeting were Dr. Mohd Nazir Basiran, Director General of the Agro-Biotechnology Institute, Mr. Ho Koon Seng, Under Secretary of International Division, Mr. Mohd Khairul Adib Abdul Rahman, Under Secretary of Industry Division, Mr. Chong Poon Chai, Under Secretary of Sea to Space Division and Ms. Azizah Ariffin, Under Secretary of Science and Technology Core Division.
